The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) announces it has hired Susan Riseling as its new executive director. She will assume the position effective, Aug. 8.

“This is a momentous occasion for IACLEA, which has previously received Executive Director staffing services from association management company, Association Resource, Inc,” stated IACLEA President, William F. Taylor in a press release. “In October 2015, the IACLEA Board of Directors voted to hire an executive director who has campus police chief experience and would report directly to the Board of Directors, as well as manage the services provided by the contracted association management company. After a thorough interview and hiring process, we are certain that Sue Riseling is the ideal candidate who will successfully lead IACLEA in a direction aligned with our strategic priorities.”

Having most recently served as the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief of Police at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department since 1991, IACLEA says Riseling has woven problem solving policing with community oriented policing to form an effective approach in dealing with campus safety and crime issues. She is considered an expert in date and acquaintance rape, crowd management and active shooter prevention.

“After a fantastic career in campus law enforcement, I cannot think of a better position than being the Executive Director of IACLEA, Riseling stated in the press release. “It will allow me to continue to serve and make contributions to the field of public safety.”
