Hospital Shooting Suspect Surrenders to Police

FAYATVILLE, N.C., A suspect has been identified and arrested for the recent fatal shooting at an area VA Hospital. James Charland Jr., a pharmacy technician at the hospital, turned himself in to police and then took them to the crime scene.

The FBI says Charland entered the hospital Dec. 12 with a shotgun and fired three rounds at an unidentified woman, killing her. He has been charged with murder and is being held without bond. Charland’s motive for the shooting is still being investigated.
