ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A tuberculosis patient ordered by the courts to get treatment vanished from Presbyterian Hospital. He was supposed to be monitored around the clock.
The man has a history of refusing treatment, according to the New Mexico Department of Health, KRQE reports. The department got a court order to hospitalize and isolate the man, and hired a private security firm to ensure he received 14 days of therapy.
The patient was taped by Presbyterian’s security cameras leaving the hospital.
