Grant Helps 2 Alabama Schools Plan for Emergencies
AUBURN, Ala. — The U.S. Department of Education has jointly awarded Auburn University and Auburn Montgomery the Emergency Management for Higher Education grant.
The $708,471 two-year grant will help public safety and emergency management officials at each institution and the Auburn Montgomery Center for Government to enhance emergency preparedness planning efforts, reports ThePlainsman.com.
Furthermore, buildings from each campus will be mapped in Virtual Alabama, a 3-D geospatial imagery toolset based in Google Earth technologies, to give first responders the information the need during a crisis.
