A fire that was set at Gallaudet University as part of Campus Fire Safety Month has landed the Washington, D.C., fire chief in hot water.
According to the Washington Post, the local union representing fire fighters is calling for the reprimand of D.C. Fire Chief Dennis L. Rubin because the Oct. 7 demonstration fire caused injuries. The fire, which was intentionally set to illustrate the value of sprinkler systems in dorms, got out of control, damaging the gear of three fire fighters and injuring two of them.
Rubin has accepted responsibility for the demo gone wrong.
