Fresno State Freshman Suffers Brain Damage At Frat Party

FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno State University’s Theta Chi fraternity was suspended after a freshman pledge died following a party.

Philip Dhanens died only about two weeks into his first semester at the university, ABC News reports. At this point, it is suspected Dhanens’ death is alcohol-related, according to the Fresno County Coroner Office.

Dhanens’ mother said she received a call from St. Agnes Medical Center at 4 a.m. Saturday, telling her that her son suffered severe brain damage. Details about what happened at that party are not yet publicly known.
