Framingham State Updates Campus Dispatch System

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Framingham State University received a $141,919 state grant, which will allow the institution to upgrade its campus police dispatch system and purchase laptops for department cruisers.

About $109,000 of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security award will be used to purchase a Computer Aided Dispatch system, the MetroWest Daily News reports. The new equipment is intended to streamline communication within the department.

$20,000 will be designated for the purchase of Dell Latitude Toughbooks for use in four of the school’s police cruisers.
