Four People Charged After N.C. School Shooting

Four people are in police custody after a nonfatal shooting on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University over the weekend.

Police have charged four people in relation to the shooting of a student on a North Carolina college campus over the weekend.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has four people in custody after a student was shot on Johnson C. Smith University’s campus early in the morning of April 19. The victim was shot in the shoulder around 2:15 a.m. while sitting in his car and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to wfae.org.

Police say the shooter’s vehicle crashed while fleeing the scene and police found three guns and marijuana in the car.

None of the four people arrested were students at Johnson C. Smith, which is located in the middle of Charlotte.
