Former Teacher Sentenced for Sexually Assaulting Students

The man sexually abused multiple girls in his first grade class.

A former teacher in Morristown, New Jersey was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting four young female students and having sex with a teenage girl.

Jason Fennes, 42, had previously pled guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault and three counts of sexual assault and received his sentence Friday.

Fennes taught first grade in the Montville School District for 12 years until 2010, according to the Bristol Herald Courier.

Fennes was originally arrested when a teenage girl told police that he’d abused her when she was a student in his first grade class. Four more girls then came forward with similar claims.

The man also had sex with a high school girl he met while coaching track.

Under the sentence, Fennes must also register as a sex offender.
