A former employee at a pluralistic Jewish day school in Pennsylvania stabbed a kitchen employee multiple times April 27.
Police say a former employee at Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy walked into the school Monday morning and stabbed a kitchen employee multiple times while students were in class. The victim, Sherman Brunson, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested the suspect, who had also been injured, in a trolley hours later. The suspect entered the school after a technology support services provider recognized him and let him through the bus entrance, according to the school. That employee has been let go because the school does not permit staff to let someone into the building without a school I.D.
The school, which teaches grades six through 12, was briefly locked down, according to jewishexponent.com. The head of the school said he plans to hold meetings with staff, parents and students to discuss security.
