Florida College Student Downs on Costa Rica Community Service Trip

A 21-year-old University of South Florida (USF) undergraduate student has been found dead after initial report indicated he had gone missing. United States Embassy in Costa Rica confirmed that his body washed ashore on May 18 near where he was swimming, accoridng to the Associated Press.

The man was reported missing by authotiries after taking a community service trip with 14 other USF students.

Costa Rica authorities had been searching for the missing student since he disappeared sometime on May 16. He was last seen swimming in the Pacific Ocean, according to reports.

USF Dean of International Affairs and other university staff members flew to Costa Rica to help with the search.
