Mannhunt On For Ex-Cop Wanted in Murder of USC Security Officer, CSU-Fullerton Coach

IRVINE, Calif. – Police are conducting a manhunt for a former Los Angeles Police Department officer who is the prime suspect in a double murder and shooting spree.

Authorities announced Wednesday night that former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, 33, is suspected of slaying Monica Quan, 28, an assistant basketball coach at California State University-Fullerton, and her fiancé, Keith Lawrence, 27, a University of Southern California public safety officer. Dorner is also accused of shooting three police officers, one of which died.

He was terminated by the LAPD in 2009.

Quan is the daughter of Dorner’s lawyer at the LAPD hearing. Dorner released a manifesto, stating his acts were “a necessary evil.”

He is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Police believe he may have left the area. Dorner was a decorated officer and a former Navy reservist.
