Three people were arrested at a Westmoreland County hospital emergency room on Nov. 15 after a scuffle broke out between an officer and three hospital visitors.
Barbara Matta, 45, was tasered by the officer after she allegedly elbowed him in the ribs. The argument occurred after 74-year-old Donald Thoma was denied access to his wife who was being treated for excessive alcohol consumption, according to the ThePittsburghChannel.com. Thoma and his two friends, Matta and 59-year-old Eugene Lucas, were asked to leave the emergency room because they were intoxicated, according to the report.
According to police, all three had a blood-alcohol level above 0.13 percent and were charged with rioting, aggravated assault and public drunkenness.
