Two teenagers are in serious condition after exchanging gunfire in a parking lot on the campus of Georgia State University March 21.
University police said the shooting was the result of a drug deal that went wrong, according to legacy.11alive.com.
Authorities arrested Shelton Torance Flournoy, 19, Jalyn Isaiah Knight, 18, and GSU student Bryan Rhoden. Flournoy was shot three times and Rhoden was shot once. Both were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
GSU Police Deputy Chief Carlton Mullis said Rhoden got into a car with the two teens to sell them a pound of marijuana, but a disagreement ensued and both Flournoy and Rhoden brandished weapons. Following the shooting, Knight fled the car and alerted police of the incident. A Glock .40 caliber handgun and a .22 caliber handgun were recovered from the scene.
Police charged Flournoy with assault felony, attempted murder and possession of a firearm on campus. Charges are pending against Rhoden for assault felony, attempted murder and possession of a firearm on campus. Knight has been detained for questioning.
Campus police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations are continuing to investigate.
