District Must Defend Against ’70s Sex Assault Lawsuit

A lawsuit against the Winnisquam Regional School District in New Hampshire is being upheld by a federal judge even though the suit alleges sexual assault from 40 years ago.

Peg Patrisso, 45, claims the district didn’t protect her from being molested by a teacher during the 1970s, reports the Boston Herald. In her lawsuit, Patrisso claims administrators knew of the teacher’s actions but did nothing to stop it.

The district argued the alleged incident happened too long ago for the woman to sue; however, a federal judge refused to dismiss the case. According to the Boston Herald, three women have sued the district for allegedly being molested by a teacher, coach and guidance counselor at the school.
