Director of Columbia County School Safety Officers Dies

EVANS, Ga. — The director of Columbia County School Safety Officers died March 10 at his home.

Robert “Buddy” Hendry had been battling lung cancer since July, The Augusta Chronicle reports. He was 68-years-old.

Hendry worked with the Florida State Patrol for 28 years before founding Columbia County School Safety Officers nearly 20 years ago.
