AURORA, Colo. — Public school officials met with parents and community members following the arrest of Officer Michael Mangino on charges that he forced a 15-year-old runaway to take sexually explicit pictures of herself, reports the Aurora Sentinel.
Officer Mangino is on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the investigation. He worked as a DARE officer at six elementary schools, including four APS schools, one private school and one in Cherry Creek Schools.
The meeting was held to allow the community to “share their thoughts freely,” according to a district statement.
