Damage to California College Police Station Costs Up to $600K

PLEASANT HILL, Calif. – Officials say the damages from the June 24 fire at Diablo Valley College’s police services building are estimated to be $500,000 and $600,000.

The fire, which made the building completely uninhabitable, was reported shortly before 2:30 a.m. Fire investigators discovered three incendiary device that caused the blaze; however, detectives do not have a motive, suspects or any leads.

The police department is currently using a temporary office in the college’s Business/Foreign Language Community Conference Room. Officials plan on rebuilding the facility.
