8/17 UPDATE: Dallas Independent School District Police believe the man who shot at the security guard August 12 is targeting police and they have issued a warning to North Texas law enforcement agencies.

An armed security guard was the target of a drive by shooting outside of a Southeast Dallas school early in the morning of August 12 but was not hit.

School surveillance cameras captured a Hispanic man getting out of a car in front of Fort Hood Middle School and opening fire on a guard that had been hired to protect construction equipment, according to wfaa.com.

Dallas Independent School District Police Chief Craig Miller reported the suspect said “F the police” before firing multiple rounds of his weapon and suggested the guard was targeted because the suspect mistook him for a police officer. Police say the suspects may have been driving a black Buick LeSabre.
