The Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education considered arming security officers in all of the state’s community colleges on Dec. 3.
The board met to discuss a policy that bans weapons on all community college campuses except Naugatuck Valley Community College, where armed police officers work, according to CBS Local.
President Gena Glickman of Manchester Community College expressed support for the idea to arm security officers on campus, arguing recent shootings on school grounds have made the policy change necessary.
