LONG BEACH, Calif. – A series of attacks on female students has led the California State University in Long Beach (CSULB) to hire private security guards and double the number of police patrols on its campus.
Four women have been assaulted on four different occasions since Oct. 21. The attacks all took place in the evening. Three of the women were able to fight off their attackers, but another was sexually assaulted.
The latest attack occurred Nov. 15, when a CSULB student who was walking to a campus parking lot fought off two male attackers.
Assailant descriptions vary, and police do not know the exact number of attackers.
