A man and a woman in San Pablo, Calif., were arrested on possession of stolen police equipment that was allegedly taken from a missing police vehicle. Police found the items in a detached garage, including an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle that had been removed from the cruiser.
The vehicle had been stolen from the Contra Costa College campus and belonged to the community-college police.
Local law enforcement has had several similar incidents in recent months, including another stolen police car, as well as several thefts of rifles and shotguns from Contra Costa sheriff’s and California Highway Patrol cruisers, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.
