CENTRAL, S.C. – A 20-year-old Clemson University student was discovered murdered in her off-campus apartment May 26.
Tiffany Souers, a junior who was taking summer classes, had been strangled with her bikini top. She was found in her bedroom by her roommate and boyfriend.
Authorities say they are quickly developing new leads in the case and that by Friday, they will have a DNA profile of her attacker. They expect the evidence to narrow down the number of suspects or even lead investigators to the killer.
Despite the murder taking place a week ago, police have been hesitant to release information about the case. It was made known that investigators searched a nearby dumpster as well as Souers’ computer. According to a recently released police report, the victim had $500 cash in her apartment at the time of the murder that was not taken by her assailant.
