At least 22 of the 45 people injured in Monday’s blast outside of a Chinese primary school were children. Eleven of the injured are in critical condition.
Two people were killed when a three-wheeled motorcycle driven by a man exploded as it passed the campus front entrance, reports the south China Morning Post.
Authorities have not officially disclosed the cause of the blast, which occurred in Guilin, Guangxi province. Several theories about the cause are circulating: some say the fuel tank exploded; others believe the package on the motorcyle exploded; while others suspect the driver was the father of a child he could no longer afford to send to the school.
