Campus Safety News Round Up 3-24

In this week’s round up, Zach talks about an uncovered school shooting plot and more.

Campus Safety Magazine has so much valuable content each week that we’ve decided to start giving brief video overviews of some of the stories that have the biggest impact on the security industry.

In this week’s edition, we talk about a shooting plot at an Oregon high school that was uncovered when students reported it to police recently.

In that case, police who received the tip uncovered a student’s detailed plot to attack the school with guns and bombs. The student has since been arrested and charged, and police are applauding the students who came forward.

Another story that’s gotten a lot of attention is on a gunfire exchange that occurred on the campus of Georgia State University on Monday. In that case, a student and another teen shot each other after a disagreement broke out during a drug deal.

Both teens were rushed to the hospital, where they’re listed in serious condition. Campus and state police continue to investigate that incident, and GSU’s police chief has since been demoted.

So be sure to check out those stories and all the content on campussafetymagazine.com for the latest news in the campus security field.
