Campus Safety Conference East Announces 2018 Keynotes

Police Foundation Director of Strategic Studies Frank G. Straub, Ph.D., and U.S. Department of Education Deputy Secretary Mitchell “Mick” Zais will be the Campus Safety Conference East 2018 keynote speakers.

Campus Safety magazine is pleased to announce that Police Foundation Director of Strategic Studies Frank G. Straub, Ph.D., and U.S. Department of Education Deputy Secretary Mitchell “Mick” Zais will be the keynote speakers at Campus Safety Conference East on July 19.

In his presentation, titled “Ripples of Hope: Building Multi-Discipline Collaboration to Prevent School Violence,” Straub will  explore opportunities for innovation and promising practices that offer hope as the nation seeks to prevent, respond to and recover from acts of violence at our schools and universities.

Zais, who has just been appointed the U.S. Department of Education’s deputy secretary, is the latest addition to the CSC East program.  His keynote will take place on July 19 at 5:30 p.m. and will cover the Federal Commission on School Safety.

Additionally, CS will announce the Director of the Year Winners, followed by Event Sponsor Blackboard, which will be presenting “Not All Security Systems are Created Equal – Is Your Campus at Risk?”
