With upgraded technology, cultural shifts and ever evolving needs, campus security standards are rapidly changing. It’s important for educators, managers, designers, and safety leaders to stay “on the pulse” of these standards and ensure their campus hits the mark for a safe and secure learning environment.
At next week’s Campus Safety Conference (CSC) at EDspaces, taking place Nov. 12-14 at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center, a panel of security, education, and architecture experts will lead a discussion on the PASSK12 guidelines and the status of the upcoming School Security Standard from ASIS.

Moderated by CAE’s Teresa Anderson, Security Standards – What they are, how they are evolving and how they affect your campus will feature Architectural Security Design Group President Ben Crum, Idaho Office of School Safety and Security Analyst Guy Bliesner, and Allegion Director of Education Security Paul Timm.
In this workshop, the panelists will discuss the difference between types of standards and guideline documents, how they use standards and guidelines in their work, and examples of the power of standards and guidelines when designing real-world projects.
Why You Should Attend the Campus Safety Conference at EDspaces
Now in its third year, CSC at EDspaces is a co-located event offering a full CSC agenda and exhibit hall and access to all EDspaces sessions and vendors.
EDspaces unites architects, designers, facility planners, educational administrators, distributors, and manufacturers to enhance student learning and well-being through innovative use of space. The co-location of these two events opens the door to more resources for school and college administrators, campus security executives, law enforcement, and emergency management professionals to strategically and effectively improve the safety and security of their facilities.
