Campus Police Officer Found Dead Alongside Squad Car
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An officer from the Indiana University Police Department was found dead in the parking lot of Memorial Stadium on May 28 after he failed to respond to radio calls while on duty.
Officer James Lerg, 30, was found by other officers near his squad car, Fox59 reports. He had reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The case is currently under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department at the request of the university’s police chief.
