NEWBURYPORT, Mass—The Center for Campus Fire Safety (CCFS) will be holding Campus Fire Forum 2012 in San Antonio, Texas, Nov. 5 – 9, at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel by the Riverwalk.
The Forum will bring together innovative and respected leaders in fire and life safety to continue the mission of protecting life and property at institutions of higher learning.
In addition to it standard 2 ½ day Forum and Annual Meeting, CCFS has added a day of training provided by the International Code Council (ICC) and another day to present the critically acclaimed Firewise Campus Training. This class affords fire safety professionals a chance to gain an understanding of successful training methodologies for the college age group, as well as receive tools and resources they can use to effectively educate students and work further to provide a fire-safe campus environment.
The Forum will include over 20 educational sessions and presentations ranging from social networking to reach students to lessons learned from managing major fire emergencies, off campus fire safety programs, code changes and enforcement, and much more. CCFS members and speakers will also explore ideas and technologies that provide solutions to common problems. Keynote speakers, Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llanos, will present the trailer to the new documentary film, “After the Fire – The Movie”.The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize story and New York Times bestseller, After the Fire. Shawn and Alvaro will tell their inspiring survival story after the tragic Seton Hall University fire, that killed three students.
Technology leaders and manufactures from across the country will also showcase the latest products and services for the higher education market.
