HAYWARD, Calif. – The Hayward school district will receive a $205 million school safety and construction bond after nearly 72 percent of voters cast their votes for Measure I. The measure only needed 55 percent to pass.
The money will go towards improving school safety by replacing deteriorating schools, construction, furnishing and equipping school facilities.
