California College and University Police Chief Association Endorses Campus Safety Conference

TORRANCE, Calif. – The California College and University Police Chief Association (CCUPCA) announced today its endorsement of the Campus Safety Conference to be held in Long Beach, California, February 19-20.

The CCUPCA is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to promote and advance the professional development of higher educational law enforcement, by acting as a focal point for the exchange of professional ideas and information, and by hosting conferences and training classes.

“The CCUPCA is proud to endorse the Campus Safety Conference”, said CCPUCA President Tom Bauer. “Our association represents 212 public and private college and universities in California, and our mission is to assist the college and university academic programs in providing a safe and secure learning and work environment for all students, staff, and community. We strongly believe that the Campus Safety Conference is a valuable conference.”

The Campus Safety Conference focuses on practical risk-reduction measures and strategies to prevent or reduce violence on campus, as well as ways of handling many of the emergencies, such as shootings and hostage situations, that plague or have the potential of affecting the nation’s healthcare and educational institutions.

The conference brings together university, school and hospital police chiefs, public safety directors, campus administrators, facility managers, IT personnel, superintendents and principals, municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement officers and other community leaders and stakeholders involved in the protection of the nation’s campuses.

Online registration for the Campus Safety Conference is now open. Attendees who register before January 28, 2008 receive a $50 Early Bird Discount on the $349 full conference pass.
