MODESTO, Calif. — The Modesto City School board unanimously voted to fire a Modesto High School campus security supervisor following a student injury from a fight the woman broke up in March.
Following a seven-hour, closed-door meeting, the board voted to dismiss Jackie Munn from her position. Munn has been on paid leave since the March incident, which did not involve any bleeding or hospitalization, and was not expecting to be terminated, The Modesto Bee reports.
MCS plans to present legal findings of fact to the California School Employees Association, a union representing Munn, on Nov. 5. The board will take its final vote on her dismissal on Nov. 12.
Meanwhile, more than 750 people have signed an online petition supporting Munn. CSEA representatives plan to meet with their legal counsel to decide the next steps.
