Two former students who sued Baylor University for mishandling their reports of being raped settled with the school Wednesday.
The terms of the settlement were not released and the details of the students’ allegations have not been revealed.
Baylor President David Garland admitted the school did not properly respond to the former students’ complaints and apologized on behalf of the university, reports USA Today.
Garland said the people who handled the rape report are no longer with the school.
Baylor has been the center of a massive controversy over its handling of sexual assault reports against student athletes in recent years.

A recent independent investigation revealed at least 19 Baylor athletes have been involved in sexual assault or domestic assault reports since 2011. Baylor officials were aware of at least one of those reports but didn’t inform local police, the school’s judicial affairs or the Title IX office.
Former Baylor President Kenneth Starr and successful football coach Art Briles were both forced to leave their positions as a result of the revelations.
Baylor has adopted several strategies to improve its handling of sexual assault reports and created a new webpage updating the community on the scandal and the school’s next steps.
