Baltimore Hospital Security Guard Charged With Assault

BALITMORE – Radiologist Dr. Mohammed Hussain has filed criminal charges against a hospital security guard he alleges manhandled and humiliated him before a scheduled surgery March 22.

As previously reported by CS, Hussain, 61, was performing a Muslim ritual when University of Maryland Medical Center security guard Rodney Corban ordered him off the premises. Hussain was washing his hands and feet for Wuduh, a purification ritual, in a hospital restroom when Corban allegedly barged in, yelled at him, and pushed him down the lobby hallway. All the while, Corban is said to have been yelling racial epithets.

Corban is being charged with second-degree assault and is due in court June 26. Hussian has already filed a $30 million lawsuit against the hospital.
