ATLANTA – Former Secretary of State Colin Powell will provide a keynote address on Oct. 1 at the 60th annual ASIS Seminar & Exhibits. Powell will offer his thoughts on domestic and world affairs, leadership, and his vision for tomorrow.

Powell served as Secretary of State from 2001-2005 during President George W. Bush’s first term in office.  His illustrious resume includes serving as the first African-American chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A retired four-star general, Powell’s numerous awards include two Presidential Medals of Freedom.

Powell authored a best-selling autobiography, “My American Journey.” His second book, a New York Times best seller titled “It Worked for Me,” reveals the lessons that shaped his life and career. As someone who crafted and articulated the U.S. position on the world stage, Powell provides insight on efforts to stabilize a troubled world and the diplomatic and leadership skills needed to transform unstable regions into areas where societies and cultures flourish.

ASIS 2014 will be held in Atlanta from Sept. 29-Oct. 2.
