Robberies at Notre Dame Prompt Undercover Operation

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Four University of Notre Dame students were robbed at gun point Sunday, prompting the university to place plainclothes officers on the streets around campus.

The incidents sparked the decision to bring in plainclothes officers in to patrol around campus. Each year as the new school year begins, the campus experiences a crime spike, according to Lt. Dan Skibins of the South Bend Street Crimes Unit.
