Armed Child Shot by Police Inside Elementary School

Chicago police have shot a 14-year old boy in the leg after responding to a burglary alarm at an elementary school.

The teen allegedly broke into the school around 4:30 a.m. and pointed a shotgun at officers on scene. The teen’s weapon was not discharged. A second suspect, a 13-year-old boy, was not wounded.

Both teens fled the scene and were later arrested. No charges have been filed. The Independent Police Review Authority and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Safety and Security are conducting an investigation.
