PHOENIX — Maricopa County Community College District has issued nearly 2.5 million notices informing individuals of a security breach that may have compromised personal information.
The letter states that confidential information including names, E-mail addresses, Social Security numbers, date of birth, certain geographical information, enrollment, academic and financial aid information may have been illegally accessed.
The breach occurred in April of this year, and affects students and workers at all 12 schools within the district. It took a while for the school to send out the notices because investigators needed time to identify and locate the risk, ABC 15 reports.
