Alabama State U. to Screen Students, Faculty for TB

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama State University and the Alabama Department of Public Health have contacted 600 students, staff and faculty who might have been in close contact with a student at the university who has pulmonary tuberculosis.

ASU defines “close contact” as spending an extended amount of time with the ill student in a physically close environment. Those persons in close contact with the student will be rapidly assessed and appropriate preventative measures will be taken, AL.com reports.
