Almost 1,000 students stayed home from school Aug. 18 at three Orlando-area schools following a series of social media threats.
Four schools were named in the threats made via Twitter, which warned of school shootings and pipe bombs being placed on the campuses, reports ABC News.

Orlando’s Boone High School recorded 357 absences while Edgewater High School said 174 students were not present. Orange’s Liberty Middle School recorded 379 absences and the fourth school implemented in the threat, Colonial High School in Orlando, did not announce their attendance figures.
Police say they are searching for a 23-year-old suspect in the case.
The FBI also announced that they were looking into the threats, although they stressed that they didn’t appear to be credible.
