WINNETKA, Ill. — SWAT teams searched the Carleton Washburne School on Jan. 5 in response to a possible hostage situation. A woman had contacted police believing her husband was being held at gunpoint in his office.
The husband – who is an administrative employee at the school – had accidentally called his wife while his phone was in his back pocket. He was listening to rap music in his car on the way home, and the lyrics led his wife to believe he was in danger, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The search was disbanded after the man was discovered in his home. Police interviewed the couple and it was determined that they did not intend to deceive police.
Students had already left school for the day by the time the SWAT team arrived on campus.
