A&M University Hires New Chief of Public Safety

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University has hired a new chief of public safety to lead its campus police force. Monica Ray, 54, formerly served as assistant police chief of Milwaukee Police Department.

Ray recently retired after a 25-year career with the Milwaukee PD, The Huntsville Times reports. She is also working as an adjunct professor at Marquette University.

Previously, Ray was the first female supervisor in the history of the criminal investigation bureau. Most recently, she was assigned to the administration bureau.
