Six members of a fraternity at Ferrum College in Virginia were indicted following a police investigation into the death of a student in April.
Few details have been released about the death of student Michael Anthony Walker, 20, who was found unresponsive at a house off campus April 17 and declared dead a week later.
The charges against the fraternity members shed light on an incident that has yet to be explained to the public, according to richmond.com.
Students Adali Jonathon Cano, Trevin Wayne Clark, David James Creedon, Nicholas Jordan Hoxter, Michael Richard Rucinski and Michael Lewis Satterwhite were charged with hazing June 6. Rucinski and Hoxter were also charged with purchasing alcohol for someone under 21.
All six students were members of the Sigma Alpha Kappa fraternity at the time of the incident.

The fraternity is not nationally recognized but is listed on the college’s list of campus clubs and activities.
Police have not said why Walker was hospitalized, or if he was involved with Sigma Alpha Kappa, but his obituary confirmed he was involved in Greek life at the school.
Administrators with the private college have not responded to requests for comment on the student’s death.
