65 Students Caught Ordering IDs from China

SEATTLE — Sixty-five Seattle University students were busted by Homeland Security for purchasing fake IDs over the Internet after officers tracked a package from China to Seattle.

The students could have faced charges, but Customs and Border Protection opted to let the university fine and sanction the students, KOMONews.com reports. Community service, fines, suspensions and writing research papers about forgery were among the punishments doled out to students.

The IDs were being shipped to a residence hall on campus.
