6 Ontario High Schools Receive $2.1M for School Safety Initiatives

Six Brampton and Mississauga high schools will receive $2.1 million for school safety as part of the Ontario government’s safe schools strategy. The Urban and Priority High Schools Funding initiative helps high-need, urban neighborhoods suffering from poverty, crime and gang violence.

The funding will help the selected Brampton and Mississauga schools create student leadership and recreation programs, crime prevention programs, and support for students and their families.

Ontario has already provided $10 million to 33 schools in urban areas across the providence.
