DUNCANNON, Pa. – Five Susquenita High School students have been arrested for making three bomb threats in less than a week.
The first threat was written on a urinal Jan. 27 and prompted the school’s evacuation. On Jan. 28, another bomb threat was left on a secretary’s answering machine early in the morning and again prompted an evacuation, which lasted four hours. On both occasions, bomb-sniffing dogs were used to search the school, but no explosives were discovered.
A third bomb threat was scribbled on a mirror Jan. 30, but the school was not evacuated after police determined the threat was not credible.
School officials say the suspects made the threats to get out of school. The officials credit video cameras with helping crack the cases.
All five students have been suspended and may be expelled. Their cases will be handled by juvenile court.
