SAN DIEGO – Three University of California San Diego (UCSD) doctors training to be pediatric specialists have been put on administrative leave for possibly viewing child pornography.
The three are suspected of viewing the pornography on their home computers via the Children’s Hospital server. The incident was discovered when the hospital conducted an internal audit.
Although there have been no arrests, UCSD has a zero-tolerance policy involving child or adult pornographic images. The San Diego Police Department is investigating the matter.
Recently, two other employees and a doctor at Children’s Hospital were arrested on child pornography charges.
In those instances, respiratory therapist Wayne Albert Bleyle, 54, is suspected of sexually abusing patients and creating child pornography. Christopher Alan Irvin, 32, formerly a nurse, is also suspected of molesting patients and distributing child pornography. Former kidney specialist Dr. Jacques Lemire, has been charged with viewing child pornography.
