3 Houston High School Administrators Charged for Failing to Report Child Abuse
HOUSTON — Police arrested three Sharpstown High School administrators on campus Thursday for failing to report child abuse that occurred at the institution.
Principal Robert Gasparello and assistant principals Jason Thomson and Silvio Leiva were each charged with three counts of failure to report child abuse. The charges are in connection with the arrest of Ysidoro Rosales-Motolo, a Spanish teacher at the school, who was charged with one count of indecency and two counts of improper relationship with a student. One of the incidents allegedly occurred on campus, ABC News reports.
Gasparello has been temporarily reassigned to an off-campus location pending the results of the investigation. For its part, the Houston Federation of Teachers union believes that the charges against the three administrators are not valid.
