Published: November 19, 2006

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Three female high school students died in a crash on Nov. 20 after their bus veered off the I-565 and fell 30 feet headfirst. At least another 30 were injured, seven of them critically.

Christina Collier, 18, Nicole Ford, 17, and Tanesha Hill, whose age was not released, were identified as the three girls who died in the crash.

The accident occurred after the bus left the Huntsville Center for Technology just after 10 a.m., a city school official said. The bus was carrying 34 students from Lee High School.

Authorities do not yet know what caused the crash, though police are looking for a small car that may have struck or come close to striking the bus, causing it to crash through the guardrail and land below the overpass.
