Two students at Brown University say they were given alcoholic drinks containing a date-rape drug at an Oct. 17 fraternity party. One student says she was sexually assaulted on the night she received the drug.
Both say they became quickly and suffered memory loss, according to the Brown University Herald.
The Providence, R.I. based-college has an investigation under way and suspended Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, which is located in Sears House where the alleged incident took place. Both the Office of Student Life and the Department of Public Safety are looking at the alcohol serving policies on campus. Brown’s fraternities and sororities are also going to undergo a new bystander prevention education program this semester.
